Or, you can install the bookmarklet manually. If you prefer a video, refer to the bookmarklet installation screencast for week two. The instructions are different for each browser:

    Firefox

There are two ways to do this in Firefox:

To install a bookmarklet you created in Firefox:

    1. In Firefox, click "Bookmarks," then select "Bookmark this Page"
      Firefox bookmarks manager
    2. Type a name for your bookmarklet into the Name field, and select where you want the bookmark to live. If you want it easily accessible, choose the "Bookmarks Toolbar."
    3. You should have a bookmark in your toolbar now. Right-click on it and select "Properties."
      Firefox bookmarks editor
    4. Copy the JavaScript for your bookmarklet, and paste it into the "Location" field.
    5. Click Save.

If you want to install a bookmarklet that is on a webpage:

    1. In Firefox, if you already have a bookmarklet on a web page, right-click on the bookmarklet link
    2. Select "Bookmark This Link"
      Adding a bookmarklet to Firefox
    3. Type the name of your Bookmarklet in the "Name" field
    4. Click "Save"

    3. Safari

Dragging the link to the bookmarks bar is the easiest way to do this in Safari. Otherwise we have to create a bookmark for something else, and then edit the URL to be the Javscript we want to run.

    1. In Safari, load any web page. We're use infopeople.org for this example. (You can't add a bookmark unless you're on a page already, it seems.)
    2. Select Bookmarks > Add Bookmark
    3. A little window will pop up. Select the folder or location where you want the bookmarklet (Use "Favorites Bar" for easy access.) Then type the name of your bookmarklet in the text field./li>
    4. Click "Add"
    5. Now right-click on bookmark you just created. You should see a menu pop up. Select "Edit Address "
      Safari contextual menu
    6. You should now see a text box pop up under your bookmark
    7. Copy the JavaScript by right-clicking on the bookmarklet link and selecting "Copy Link"

    8. Paste the code into the text box
    9. Click the "Done" button.

    4. Internet Explorer

Older versions of Internet Explorer don't support drag-and-drop bookmarks, so this might be your only option with IE.

    1. Make sure your favorites bar is visible. (Right-click on the menu bar and make sure "Favorites" is checked.)
    2. Right click on the bookmarklet link and choose "Add to Favorites"
    3. In the "Create In" field, choose "Favorites Bar"
    4. Click "Add"
    5. You should now have a bookmarklet link in your Favorites Bar
